Robert Lee Murden
Robert Lee Murden, 79, of Spout Spring passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Bedford Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Patricia Bates Murden.
Born in Lynchburg on June 16, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert P. Murden and Annie Lawhorne Murden. He was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was in the United States Army serving in the 82nd Airborne. Robert was also a carpenter.
He is survived by three sons, Randall Lee Murden of Lynchburg, Robert E. Keeler and wife, Melody of Spout Spring, and Richard P. Keeler and wife, Connie of Lynchburg; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, William Richard Cheatham of Spout Spring; two nieces, Vicky C. Phelps and husband, Richard, Jr. of Gladstone, and Susan C. Cheatham of Spout Spring; one nephew, Ray T. Cheatham and wife, Debbie of Spout Spring; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Murden, Jr.; a sister Frances Cheatham; and one nephew, Robert Stuart Cheatham.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Monday, July 11, 2022, at Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Donald Martin officiating.
