Stafford Lee Gravely

Stafford Lee Gravely, 63, of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born March 18, 1959 in Henry County to the late Lewis Arnold Gravely and Rachel M. Jones Gravely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnn Jones and Geneva Rumley; and brothers, Melvin Jones and Thomas “T.J.” Gravely.

He attended Henry County Public Schools, and had been an automobile mechanic for over 30 years. He had been a disc jockey, and enjoyed working, doing odd jobs, and spending time with family and friends.

Stafford is survived by daughters, Chevyree Akridge and Sierra Turner; sister, Mary Penn; brothers, Louis Gravely, John Gravely, and Charles Gravely (Wendy); grandchildren, Iyanni King, Kezaria Whitehead, Jashaun Turner, Jayianna Turner, Tristian Akridge, Kenysha Turner, Jaemee Fitzgerald and Journee Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Kayden King, Messiah King and Bellamy King; special friend, Anna Hankins; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

A floating visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral will be Monday, July 18 at 11:30 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Milton Johnson, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. Following the service the burial will be at Mayo Baptist Church Cemetery, Horsepasture/Price Road, Ridgeway.
