Nina D. Willard

Nina D. Willard, 93, of Bassett, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at her home. She was born in Surry County, NC on January 11, 1929, to the late Sylvester Dunkley and the late Jo Anna Morrison Dunkley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell Willard, Sr. son, Russell Willard, Jr. and stepson, Danny Willard.
Nina is survived by her son, Wayne Holt; daughters, Peggy B. Underwood, Carolyn H. Manuel, Donna W. Smith, and Susan W. Edmonds; stepson, Joe R. Willard; grandchildren, Shannon Barnes, Cheryl Crews, Jerry Manuel, Gina Hodge, Tyffani Knott, Ricky Smith, Dana Smith, Deanna Bullins, Robert Edmonds, Austin Edmonds, Christy Yancy and Chad Holt; several great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Dunkley; sisters, Letha Mills, and Inez Donaldson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jerry Manuel officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville.
