Viola Moyer Turner

Mrs. Viola Moyer Turner, 94, of Axton, VA transitioned on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at her home. She was born in Henry County, VA on March 11, 1928 a daughter of the late Jake and Donner Morrison Moyer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Turner.
She was the last of her siblings.
Mrs. Moyer was retired from American of Martinsville and was a member of Shiloh Way of the Cross Church where she served as a Missionary, and was the oldest member. She was a former pianist at St. Paul Holiness Church and played the harmonica.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Valerie Wilson, of Axton, VA; and Cynthia Williams of Cascade, VA; two sons Alvin Turner of Axton, VA; and John Turner of Bassett, VA; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 24, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel with Bishop Earley Dillard, officiating. Burial will follow in the Moyer Family Cemetery in Axton, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 2:30 and will be at the home at 2315 Martin Lane Axton, VA at other times.
