Mary Ester Sauer

Mary Ester Sauer, age 94, of Rocky Mount Virginia, left her earthly home to join our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her home. Mary was employed by Stanleytown Furniture. Co. for 18 years. After early retirement she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; Mark and Lula Shively, her husband; Edward Sauer Sr. three sons, Windell Sauer, Edward Sauer Jr. and Kelly Sauer; four sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her three daughters; Gertrude Taylor of Vinton, Donna Massey (Jerry) and Elizabeth Hall of Rocky Mount, seven grandchildren; Joshua Hall (Amy), Joseph Hall (Katie), Trish Williams (Danny), Brandy Taylor, Connie Brooks (Brian), Kristy Watson, Kelly Sauer, Jr. nine great-grandchildren, three step-greatgrandchildren, and her wonderful church family of Woodlawn Baptist Church where she was a life long member. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mark Ryan, her hospice nurse and Sabrina Reeves her CNA for the care and compassion given to our mother. Funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center of Rocky Mount.
