Elaine Aldridge Wirt

Elaine Aldridge Wirt, 86, of Bassett, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 10, 1935 in Henry County to the late Crawford Aldridge and the late Elsie Hundley Aldridge. She is also preceded by her brothers, William Aldridge and Buddy Aldridge.

Elaine was a member of Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday School Adult Class and the Men’s and Women’s Bible Class.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Leonard “Wes” Wirt; son, Jerry Wirt (Vickie); daughter, Louann Jarmoloski (Dave); four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Perdue, Janet Kidd and Shelby Thompson (Wallace); brother, Eugene Aldridge (Marie) and sister-in-law, Betty Aldridge.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren with Pastor Noel Naff officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service in Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
