Opal Elizabeth Turner

Opal Elizabeth Turner, 90, of Patrick Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Northern Hospital in Mount Airy.  She was born on March 29, 1932 in Stuart to the late Thomas Lawson and the late Mattie Stovall Lawson.  She was also preceded in death by husband, James Edwin Turner; six sisters and three brothers.
Opal was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she enjoyed working in the nursery.  She also enjoyed crocheting and cooking.
Opal is survived by sons, Steve Lawson, James Turner, Eddie Turner and John Turner; six grandchildren and brother, Emmett Lawson. The family would like to thank Blue Ridge Therapy and Mountain Valley Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Pleasant View Baptist Church.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow the funeral service in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
