Dana Walker Whitlow

ana Walker Whitlow, 49 of Hardy, VA passed away due to a tragic vehicle accident on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Dana was born on August 25, 1972, in Roanoke, VA. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1990. She married the love of her life, Jeff, February 28, 1992. Dana worked at the Salem Veteran’s Affair Hospital for 10 plus years, where she enjoyed giving back to those that had already given so much.

Dana was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Lynn Whitlow; her sister, Jackie Sue Woods; her father and mother-in-law, Robert E. Lee and Hattie Whitlow. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jeff Whitlow; their three children and son-in-law, Jessica and Christopher White of Spartanburg, SC, Alexis Whitlow of Hardy and Donald E. Lee Whitlow of Hardy. She is also survived by her parents, Donald, and Mary Walker of Boones Mill; sister and husband, Kim and Doug of Boones Mill; step-granddaughter, Trinity White of Coeburn; along with many extended family members. Dana will be greatly missed by all her close friends.

Dana’s greatest joy was her three children and the life that her and Jeff built. She loved being in the garden and soaking up the sun by the water. Dana will always be remembered for her kind heart and ability to help others through tough times.

Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Jim Steele and Pastor Jeff Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
