Mary Margaret "Peggy" Rauck

Mary Margaret “Peggy” Rauck age 72 of Troutville, passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Wednesday, July 27, 2022 surrounded by family.

Peggy was born July 3, 1950 in Washington, DC and lived in Botetourt the past fifty years. She was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Margaret Henry Ikenberry. Peggy was an avid reader, historian, and dog lover. Peggy graduated from Hollins University with a Bachelor’s Degree which is where she met John and then they both went on to attend Virginia Tech to earn their Masters Degrees. After graduation she worked for the Virginia Disability Determination Services for many years making lifelong friends.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John E. Rauck; daughters: Katherine McClure Rauck (Samuel Fischer) of Lynchburg, VA, and Margaret Anna Rauck (Neil Kern) of Charleston, SC; a grandson, Jack Kern; and her sister, Cathy (Reed) Fawell of Easton, Maryland.

A memorial service honoring Peggy’s life will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 8 at Rader Funeral Home, 350 Roanoke Road Daleville with Ben Peyton officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am.
