Perry Donnell Hylton

Perry Donnell Hylton, 79, passed away July 29, 2022, at the Veterans Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born April 5, 1943, in Patrick County to the late King Via Hylton and Thelma Hill

Hylton. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Lenel Hylton.

He was a graduate of Patrick Central High School, and attended Saint’s Paul College in Lawrenceville, Virginia. He was a veteran of the Air Force where he served his country for four years. He retired from DuPont with thirty years of service.

He was a member of Shiloh Way of the Cross Church under Bishop Early Dillard. Later he joined the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ under Bishop Eugene E. Ramos, Sr. where he was ordained as a deacon until his death.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his wife Mildred Carter Hylton; sons, Kirk Hylton (Melissa), and Larry Hylton; sister, Joyce Taylor (Bob), Sharon Leavelle (Jerry), and Sandra Hylton; brothers, Melvin Hylton (Mae) and Jeff Hylton (Ervette); granddaughters, Kelli L. Hylton, and Haily Williams. He is also survived by a host of relatives and extended family.

Perry never met a stranger, and he always had a kind word. In his free time, the outdoors was his passion. Perry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and helping others. He will be sorely missed but will suffer no more as he rests in the arms of Jesus.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Fair Haven Memorial Park at 11:00 A.M. A floating visitation will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, from 11-4 PM and Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 9-4 PM at Wright Funeral Service.
