Laurie Slayton Malone

Laurie Slayton Malone, age 60, of Roanoke, Virginia died Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 20, 1962 in Covington, Virginia to Charles A. and JoAnn Slayton. She was of the Baptist faith, she enjoyed decorating and cleaning her house and loved working on her flowers and garden.
Laurie was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Dale Slayton.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Boyd “Rusty” Malone, Jr.; two daughters, Kelly Daniel Malone of Roanoke and Alaina Malone of Covington; two sons, Christopher David Cook of Roanoke and Alex Malone of Hawaii; four grandchildren, Adalyn Broce, Amelia Broce, Paris Richmond and Asher Malone; two sisters, Terry Slayton Schodowski and husband Mark of Fincastle and Brenda Noszek and husband Tim of Buchanan; a brother, Darrell Wayne Slayton and wife Celine of Lynchburg; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Slayton of Mount Airy, NC; aunts and uncles, Betty Wiseman, Peggy Landrum, Terry and Linda Lemons and Debbie Groves all of Covington and a number of nieces and nephews
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Darrell Naff officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
