Betty Reynolds Gallier

December 1, 1935 - August 6, 2022

Betty Lou Reynolds Gallier, 86, of Appomattox, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2022. She was the wife of the late Shelton C. Gallier. Born in Campbell County, she enjoyed her early married years residing in Cuba and Norfolk, VA, as the wife of a servicemember of the U. S. Navy. She later moved with her family to Appomattox where she resided until the time of her death.
Betty was known for her independent spirit, industrious nature, and desire to serve others in her community. She served as a charter member and deacon of Grace Hills Baptist Church, former secretary of the America Legion Auxiliary Post 104, and was an avid supporter of Gleaning For The World. Many stories have been shared regarding her willingness to assist family and neighbors with any need at hand. In addition to her community service, Betty was formerly employed by the Lynchburg Training School and later, retired from the United States Postal Service. She enjoyed traveling and sporting activities, especially a good game of golf or tennis, and in recent years, Betty could often be found playing a fun game of Skip-Bo with friends!
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Norma G. Fisher (Buddy); sons, Shelton Christian Gallier, Jr. (Connie) and Bruce Edward Gallier (Carole); step-daughter, Janice Miller; granddaughters, Traci F. Gorden (R.W.) and Elizabeth G. Gallier; grandson, Matthew Shawn Fisher (Shelly); great-grandsons, David William Fisher and Timothy Briggs; sisters-in-law, Francis Reynolds and Lilian Reynolds, and many other family and friends.

Betty’s family would like to express their gratitude to Danny and Janie Gallier, Shirley Baldwin, and staff of Babcock Manor and Centra Hospice for the love and support during her recent years of illness.
