Lewis E. Cobbler

Lewis E. Cobbler 97, of Bassett passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Rocky Mount Health and Rehab in Rocky Mount.  He was born on September 24, 1924 the son of the late John Thomas Cobbler and the late Mary Freeman Cobbler.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Margaret Helen Stone Cobbler and also by three brothers.
Lewis was in the United States Navy as a gunner who handed ammo to the gun, he worked for American Furniture, Virginia Furniture Carriers, R.P. Thomas Trucking and he also drove a cab. Leiws retired from Stanly Furniture.  He is survived by his daughter Linda C. Stovall (Earl F.), son Randall Cobbler, three grandchildren Christy Carbaugh, Maggie Charles and Sharon Cobbler also three great grandchildren; Caleb Hammel, Mya Hammel and Isaiah Charles.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 13 from 10 -11:00a.m. in the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service with a graveside to follow at 11:30 at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery.
