Jacqueline Thompson Stone

Jaqueline Thompson Stone, 98, of Bassett passed away peacefully, on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Monday, October 3, 1924, to the late Major Bunyon Thompson and Sallie Stone Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Silas Stone, a son, Truman Stone, 6 brothers, and 4 Sisters.

Jaqueline was a long-time member of Blackberry Baptist Church for 47 years. She loved sowing and quilting for her family and friends. She also enjoyed working in the garden and canning foods.

Jaqueline is survived by her daughters, Ellen Ingram, Sandra Stone (Carroll), Kay Smith, Becky Oakes (Francis); sons, L.B. Stone (Dot), Randy Stone (Mary), Dwayne Stone (Phyliss). A sister, Dirvie Hall. 7 grandchildren, Bobby Stone, Lavonda Foley, Deanna Edwards, Gwen Handy, Brad Stone, Jared Smith, and Britny Ellis. 4 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastors Payton Gilbert and Chad Janey officiating, with the burial to follow at the Blackberry Baptist Church cemetery.
