Lorine Thomasson Morris
Lorine Thomasson Morris, 94, of Goodview, Virginia, went home to her heavenly father on August 9th. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Lorine was born in Franklin County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Dana Thomasson and Eva Ellis Thomasson
Dickinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie “Pete” Morris; sons, C. Wayne Morris and Gary Morris; daughter-in-law, Marie Johnson Morris, brothers, Johnny Thomasson, Sammie Thomasson, Dana “Junior” Thomasson, Thomas “Tink” Thomasson and Fred Dickinson; granddaughter, Robin Morris; special nieces, Penny Chisom Akers and Donna Thomasson; and loving family member, Sara V. Prillaman.
Lorine was a failthful member of Goodview Baptist Church and made her witness for the Lord a central focus of her entire life. Lorine’s passion in life was her love of family. Lorine’s loving tenderhearted kindness will be passed down to future generations.
Lorine is survived by her grandchildren, Michael Morris (Teri), Kelly Morris Prillaman (Scott) and Jason Morris (Cindy); her sisters, Ruby T. Morris, Dolly Dickinson and Shelby D. Fisher (Tommy), daughter-in-law, Diane A. Morris; five great-grandchildren, Jessica Morris Huson (Joe), Thomas Morris (Kelly), Meghan Morris, Hannah Morris and Justin Morris; great-great grandchild, Emory Morris and many other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to acknowledge with deep appreciation, the loving and dedicated care that Lorine received at the Joseph C. Thomas Center and Richfield Living – The Health Center, Salem. Our deepest appreciation to her special angels, Pat, Edith, Deidera, Andy, Suzanne, Kendra, Paula, Raynette, Caidi, Kristin, Courtney, Jamie, Fe, Carolyn and Kim.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13th at Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Joey Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at the Morris Family Cemetery in Goodview, Va. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 12th from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lotz Vinton Chapel.
