Robert Edward "Bobby" McClenny, Jr.

October 25, 1937 - August 13, 2022

Robert Edward “Bobby” McClenny, Jr., 84, of Pamplin, died Saturday, August 13, 2022. He was the loving husband of Laura Carson McClenny for 60 years.

Born in Appomattox County, October 25, 1937, he was a son of the late Gladys Swan and Robert Edward McClenny, Sr. He was a graduate of Pamplin High School and Virginia Tech. Bobby taught agriculture, served as Soil Conservationist and became a full-time farmer after retirement. Bobby was a member of Elon Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, served as a deacon and sang in the choir for generations.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Glen Edward McClenny and wife, Monica of Bealeton, Kenneth Michael McClenny and wife, Lee of Pamplin and Wendy McClenny Anderson and husband, Mark of Chesapeake; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Claire, Avery, Will, Ella, Olivia McClenny, Trevor and Carson Anderson, Nadine Livesay and husband, Philip, and Morgan Pence and Joseph Scruggs; four great-grandchildren, Carter and Harper McClenny, Philip and Luke Livesay; two sisters, Janice Ruth Mahone and Mary Wilson Deal and husband, Walter;

A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Elon Baptist Church with Rev. David Sexton officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
