Peggy Ann Hamblin

Peggy Ann Hamblin, age 71, of Blacksburg, died, Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery. She was born in Montgomery County, VA on April 7, 1951, to the late Howard Lee and Helen Sheppard Jones. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Dowdy; son-in-law, Drew Viars; brother, Buddy Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ray Hamblin, Jr.; daughters and son-in-law, Christine Viars, Anita and Gene Lambert, II; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bobby Scott, Nancy Price, Louise Sumler; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Lisa Jones; as well as other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU nurses and Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at Sheppard Family Cemetery, Blacksburg with Rev. Mike Johnson, and Rev. Jerry Sheppard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
