Douglas Seamster
Douglas Lee Seamster, 80, of Concord, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, February 20, 2023, at his residence. He was the husband of Donna Tucker Seamster.
Born on April 2, 1942, he was a son of the late Sudie Grady Seamster and Charlie Thomas Seamster. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Oakville Ruritan Club, and a past member of the Masonic Lodge. Doug was a United States Army veteran, served on the Appomattox County Volunteer Rescue Squad for 26 years, and volunteered with Gleaning for the World.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Cindy Dalton and husband, Ronnie, Sr., of Concord, Mary Stanley and husband, Jeff, Ivy Henry and husband, Donald all of North Carolina, and Allison Brooks and husband, Dustin of Lynchburg; sisters-in-law, Teresa Sandifer and husband, Keith, Dorothy Fleshman and husband, Gary, and Myrna Doss; seven grandchildren, Tristan Phelps and fiancée, Hayley, Melissa Bryant and husband, Adam, Ronnie Dalton, Jr., and wife, Lindsey, Kaitlyn Stanley, Kylie Brown, Kinsley Brooks and Tucker Brooks; three great-grandchildren, Carter Dalton, Adam Bryant, Jr. and Ashton Bryant; numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Timothy Seamster.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Ellen M. Seamster; a brother, Dan Seamster; and a nephew, Mike Seamster.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Rusty Small officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
