Ray Henderson Nichols

Ray Henderson Nichols, Sr., 86, of Huddleston, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023. He was born in Bedford, VA on May 30, 1936 a son of the late Dewey William Nichols and Virginia Crouch Nichols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Hayden Nichols and Barry Wayne Nichols.
Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army and his greatest job was being a husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Glynda Louise Hudson Nichols; children, Ray H. Nichols, Jr. (Vicky), Deborah Lyn (Tom), Timothy W. Nichols, Todd Nichols (T.C.); twelve grandchildren; and thirty great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 17440 Wyatts Way, Evington, VA with Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be presented by American Legion Board-Canady Post 54. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
