Spurgeon Tolva "S.T." Deskins

Spurgeon “S.T.” Tolva Deskins, 74, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at Lewis Gale Hospital. He was born April 16, 1948, in Matewan, West Virginia to the late Gordon Jack Deskins and Fallie Miller Deskins. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, had been president of AMVETS and was a member of the VSO Committee. S.T. was a veteran of the U.S. Army; serving during the Vietnam era, and he attended Compassion Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gorden Jean Sloan; and brother Tuffy Jack Deskins.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Bridges; son, Walter Scott Deskins; sisters, Elizabeth Pricey Cole, Alma Jo Mooney, Bonnie Barbour and Judy James Warren; and five grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
