Flora Suzetta Craighead

Flora Suzetta Craighead, 64, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023. She was born May 29,1959, in Bassett, Virginia, to the late Posey Ross and Mayomie Ross.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her daughter, Tiffany Craighead; sisters, Mary Geraldine Dodson, Goldie Doretha Walker, and Ocie Ross; brothers, Thomas V. Ross, Jesse Ross, Edward Posie Ross, and Stanford Lee Ross.

Flora was a member of Shiloh Way of the Cross Church, and of the Apostolic Doctrine. She was a dedicated employee of Morehead Hospital for twenty-eight years, where she worked as a nurse. Flora enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping, visiting friends, and being a caretaker for others in her free time.

She is survived by her goddaughter Asia Hopkins; sisters, Wyneater Dodson (Herman), Bonnie James (Wayne), Susan Warren; sister-in-laws, Lillie May Ross, Betty Ross; brothers, James Ross, Larry Ross “Donnie”, Jerry Ross (Titishia).

The funeral will be Friday, June 30, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Shiloh Way of the Cross Church with Bishop Phillip Calloway officiating. A visitation will be held a half hour before the funeral starting at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.

Nightly visitation will be held beginning Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the home of Flora Craighead, 160 Ross Drive Bassett, Virginia, from 2:00-7:00 PM.
