Charles Homer Sherlin of Lynchburg, Virginia
July 29, 1938 - January 6, 2024

Charles Homer Sherlin, 85, of Appomattox passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Edley Place Home Care. He was the husband of the late Mildred Mayberry Sherlin for 66 years.

Born on July 29, 1938, in North Carolina, he was the son of the late Enoch Wesley Shirlen and Eva Morgan Shirlen. He was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church and an electrician by trade.

He is survived by three sons Tommy L. Sherlin and wife, Gail of Campbell County, Ronny L. Sherlin of Evington, and Donny L. Sherlin and wife, Faye of Spout Spring; seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, brother, Jimmy Shirlen of Biscoe, NC; and two sisters, Ruby S. Hall and husband, Ronnie of Pamplin, and Christine S. Smith and husband, Larry of Morganton, NC.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Shirlen, and sister, Betty S. Shoemaker. 

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Edley Place and his four granddaughters, Marcie Mantiply, Melissa Campbell, Crissy Roakes, and Kelsey Means for their loving care and attention. 

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
