Sue Moore Campbell of Appomattox, Virginia

Sue Moore Campbell, 89, of Appomattox, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in Lynchburg General Hospital. Sue married Thomas Jesse Campbell on August 31, 1956, and together they raised three wonderful children.
Born in Oakville, VA, on April 19, 1934, she was a daughter to the late Louis and Marjorie Martin Moore. She was a 1952 graduate of Appomattox County High School, attended Phillips Business College, and was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. After 24 years working in the bookkeeping office at Craddock and Terry, she went to work for Areva, retiring after 24 years of service.
Sue is survived by her children, Teresa Campbell O’Brien, Tommy Campbell and wife, Pam, and Todd Campbell and wife, Joanne all of Appomattox; eight grandchildren, Christen Campbell, Timmy Campbell, Cari C. Baker and Caleb, Sam O’Brien and Jennah, Tanner Campbell, Trey Campbell, Mary Campbell O’Brien, and Matthew Martin; one great-granddaughter, Addie Jo Baker and expecting the soon-to-be arrival of Baylor Riley O’Brien. She is also survived by a sister, Eva C. Moore of Mineral; a brother, Louis Walker Moore and wife, Anne of Appomattox; sisters-in-law, Sallie Moore and Clydie Cheatham; a special cousin, Mary Ellen Marshall all of Appomattox; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by six siblings, Jessalyn Burcher, Margueritte Jordon, T. Carlton Moore, Rebecca Covington, Faye Weston, and a baby brother.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Hebron Baptist Church officiated by Rev. John Flood. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m.
