John Forest Marshall

John Forest Marshall, 92, of Appomattox, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Doris Geraldine Culbertson Marshall for 63 years.
Born on June 3, 1931, he was the adopted son of the late Mary Willie Caldwell Marshall and Howard Blanton Marshall. Forest was a graduate of Roanoke National Business College and was a tax auditor for the city of Roanoke and later for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in Germany and supported various charitable and civic organizations. Forest enjoyed farm life where he raised black angus cattle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Phillip Culbertson and wife, Marie of Vinton.
A celebration of life will be held 11a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Robinson Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in the Coleman Hunter Family Cemetery.
