Glenn Samuel Martin, Jr.

Glenn Samuel Martin, Jr., 76, of Tennessee, died Friday, May 17, 2024, at his residence.
Born in Appomattox, September 8, 1947, he was a son of the late Ophelia Self Martin and Glenn Samuel Martin, Sr.
The Tobacco Industry was Sammy’s passion. He raised a tobacco crop every year and owned several Tobacco Warehouses over the course of his career. Sammy served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was considered a “River Rat’. He served on the USS Waldron.
He is survived by three children, Robert “Bob” Martin and wife, Chrissy, Paul B. Martin and wife, Jennifer all of Appomattox and Victoria Patrick and husband, Bronson of TN; brother, James W. Martin and wife, Sylvia of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Kasey Martin, Charlie Martin and Kate Martin; and nephew, Nick Martin and wife, Heather.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Jane Martin.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Rocks Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Rocks Baptist Church.
