Gerlad Hugh Brown, Jr.
Gerald Hugh Brown, Jr., 68, of Spout Spring passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his residence. He and his wife, Kathy Canterbury Brown, shared their lives together for 42 years.
Born on December 8, 1955, in Lynchburg, he was the son of Carol Rose Buckner of Lynchburg and the late Gerald Hugh Brown, Sr. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard. Gerald worked as a project manager for Steve Lloyd Concrete Company. He was a very skilled craftsman and very creative when working with concrete. He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing on the James River, Leesville Lake, and Smith Mountain Lake. Gerald enjoyed boating with his beloved dog Scout.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two children, Scott Nivens and wife, Shannon of Lynchburg, and Stefanie Walker and husband, Lovis Walker III of Appomattox; six grandchildren Colton Moon, Dakota Walker, Justin Walker, Kiera Walker, Natalie Nivens, and Calvin Prescott Nivens; one great-grandchild, Kayson Joyner; and two sisters, Donna Brown of Lynchburg and Dianne Brown.
A funeral service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Davis officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
