Born in Appomattox County, July 27, 1931, he was a son of the late Emma Robertson Reynolds and Homer Dean Reynolds. Alfred was a long-term resident of Lynchburg, VA, which included being a faithful member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox.
He is survived by his two sons, Rev. Donald W. Reynolds and wife, Nancy of Denton, MD, and Rev. Steve K. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Mitchell and Merle R. Nash; three brothers, Shirley Reynolds, Harold Reynolds and Clyde Reynolds.
Alfred was a great man of God who loved the Lord. He was quiet but a very friendly, caring man. When he would speak, there was great wisdom to be found in his words. He was a Virginia man through and through and loved being at his home in Forest, Virginia. He loved working outside in his yard, cutting grass and doing whatever tasks were needed. He loved to take walks and sit on his porch in the evening time. He was also a great neighbor and would help them whenever he could. Alfred was a big family man. He greatly supported his pastor sons in their ministries. Loved teaching and being with his grandchildren every summer. Creating so many great memories. He would share many stories about his family upbringing, parents and he would visit his siblings often.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Don Reynolds and Rev. Steve Reynolds, his two sons. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Rev. 14:13, “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yes, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them.”
