Ashby Alton Wright

Ashby Alton Wright, 77 of Appomattox, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Lois Stinson Wright.
Born on February 17, 1947, in Appomattox County, he was the son of the late Walter Wright and Susie Goin Wright. He proudly served his country during Vietnam as a Medic in the United States Army. He was the owner/operator for A.A. Wright Backhoe and Dump Truck Service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christie Tucker and husband, John of Appomattox; a sister, Addie Mae Hager of Bluefield West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four siblings, Betty Hudson and husband, Jerry, Frances Schroder and husband, Art, June Wills and husband, Roger, and Dickie Wright and wife, Bonnie.
A graveside service with Pastor Buddy Bryant officiating, will be held at 11 am, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Wright Family Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard.
