Maurice Andrew Williams Jr.

Maurice Andrew Williams, Jr., 78, of Amherst, died Friday, August 9, 2024. He was the loving husband of Susan Burke Williams.
Born in Lynchburg, March 14, 1946, he was a son of the late Annice Martin and Maurice Andrew Williams, Sr. Andy worked at Southern Air from 1969-1976 as the Storeroom Supervisor and retired from Greif Paper and Packaging after 46 years as the Senior Buyer. He served his country in the United States Army Transportation Unit from 1964-1970 and then the National Guard from 1974-1976.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Bradley Williams of Amherst, Justin Williams and wife, Ashley of Mechanicsville and Marisa Williams of Richmond; three grandchildren, Emerson Marie Williams, Elanor Burke Williams and Everly Amanda Williams; two sisters, Carol W. Marsh of Richwood, WVA, and Kathy W. Burnley and husband, Michael of Concord; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and longtime friend, Kinkle Toliver.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
