Gail Layne Wheeler

Gail Layne Wheeler, 68, of Chesterfield, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at her residence. She was the wife of Thomas B. “Tommy” Wheeler.
Born on September 7, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Jack David Layne, Sr. and Loretta Doss Layne. She was a member of Memorial Methodist Church. Gail was a 1974 graduate of Appomattox County High School. She worked as a secretary for Virginia State Police Headquarters Safety Division.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Jack D. Layne, Jr. and wife, Freda of Appomattox; her twin sister, Dale L. Weakley and husband, Steve of Appomattox; and nephew, Ryan Weakley of Spout Spring.
A funeral service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Mark Allen officiating. A private family burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Robinson Funeral Home.
