John Thomas Kress Jr

John Thomas Kress, Jr., 49, of Appomattox, died Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Jennifer Gunter Kress.
Born in Lynchburg, VA on September 24, 1975, he was the son of Patricia Phelps Shelton of Arrington and John Thomas Kress, Sr. of Appomattox. He was employed by Appomattox Well Drilling.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two children, Darren Kress (Amber Boone) and Myiah Kress; two stepchildren, Alexis Love and Christian Love; six grandchildren, Noah, Roseabella, Layla, Brooklyn, Ivy, and Grayson; three siblings, Sandra Phelps Seay, Calvin Ray Kress, Lee Roy Shelton; father-in-law, David Gunter; mother-in-law, Martha Carwile; stepfather, James Pippin, Sr.; uncle DaDa, Edward Phelps; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Landon Watson. The burial will follow in the Price Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 am until time of service and other times at the residence.
