Janis Mawyer Cage

Janis Mawyer Cage, 87, of Rustburg passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Woodrow D. Cage.
Born on May 28, 1937, in Amherst County, she was a daughter of the late Otis Dadmon Mawyer and Eler Martin Mawyer. She was a member of Rustburg Baptist Church. Janis retired from the security department at BWXT. She was active in her community and church throughout her life.
She is survived by three children, Gordon B. Dalton, Christopher Otis Dalton and wife, Heather, and Beverly D. Woody and husband, Mike; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katy Cheatham, and Rachel Brooks and husband, George; sister-in-law, Debbie Mawyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Mawyer and James Mawyer; and two sisters, Catherine “Tabby” Floyd and Lucinda Turner.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Rustburg Baptist Church with Pastor Don Bailey and Pastor Rick Cole officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
