Carrie Moore Boyd

Carrie Moore Boyd, 91, of Appomattox passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Willie Boyd.
Born in Appomattox County on October 10, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Moore and Mattie Jackson Moore. Carrie was a member Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served as choir member. She was also an accomplished seamstress.
She is survived by four children, Curtis Ferguson, Mary Glover and husband, Stanley, Charles Ferguson and wife, Ann all of Appomattox, and JoAnn Carpenter and husband, David of Madison Heights; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Moore and Lawrence Moore; and three sisters, Mattie Chambers, Mary Powell, and Josephine Boyd.
A funeral service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Jewels Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
