Jesse "Red" Eugene Morris

Jesse "Red" Eugene Morris, 88, of Appomattox, VA, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Babcock Manor. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Love Morris.
Born in Vera, VA, on July 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Mary Edith Vassar Morris and Julian Inathas Morris. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. For many decades, Jesse was the owner and operator of Morris Garage. He proudly served his country as a mechanic in the United States Army.
He is survived by his son, Lynn Allen Smith and wife, Sabrina of Gladstone; daughter-in-law, Dr. Dawn Rigney of Charlottesville; seven grandchildren, Stacie Smith Ball and husband, Ryan, Larsen Andrew Smith, Marcia Wilson, Laura Leigh, John Rigney, Juli Rigney, and Alex Rigney; and numerous great-grandchildren; as well as his beloved great grand dogs.
He was preceded in death by a son LTC M. Garland Rigney, JAG Corp, and his sister Betty M. Faison.
A funeral service will be held, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Dr. Rusty Small. A private burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service at Robinson Funeral Home.
