Cecil Allen Reynolds
Cecil Allen Reynolds, 84, of Madison Heights, Va, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 31, 2025, after a long illness, surrounded by his wife and family at home. His wife, Margaret Phelps Reynolds, was by his side and lovingly cared for him during his illness.
Born in Appomattox County (Vera), Virginia, on February 15, 1941, he was the youngest of eight children. Cecil was a generous friend and touched the lives of many with his warmth and giving nature. Cecil was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church in Appomattox. He retired from the Appomattox County Sheriff’s department as Chief Deputy and later retired again from the Amherst County Sheriff’s office. After his retirement, he continued working as a plumber and electrician with his own business, C A Reynolds Plumbing and Electrical. Cecil was well respected by all who knew him, and he brightened the lives of many during his life. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Dean Reynolds and Emma Robertson Reynolds; brothers, Shirley Reynolds, Clyde Reynolds, Alfred Reynolds, and Harold Reynolds; and sisters, Doris Mitchell and Merle Nash.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Rita and husband, David Salmon and Tina and husband, Eddie Lynn Martin; two grandchildren, Emma and husband, William Doughtie, and Spencer Salmon and fiancée, Cameron; one great granddaughter, Savannah; and two stepdaughters, Trudy Harris and Wendy and husband, Phil Bailey. He is also survived by one brother, Ralph and wife, Ann Reynolds; sisters-in-law, Jean Reynolds and Barbara and husband, Danny Miller; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his family, he is survived by his ice cream buddy, Rice Phelps and his favorite cat, Minie Tom.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Darryl Martin. The family will receive friends following the service.
