Tony Alfred Floyd Sr.

Tony Alfred Floyd Sr., 66, of Appomattox, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of Theresa Ewers Floyd.
Born in Bedford, Va, on December 8, 1958, he was the son of the late Maycel Mae Fox Floyd and the late Bruce Edward Floyd. Tony was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He worked as a diesel technician for Piedmont Fleet for 16 years. He also loved fishing and gardening. Tony was a true craftsman known for his resourcefulness and ability to do just about anything.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Shauna Floyd (Etta) of Moneta, Va, Kristina Thilking (Bryan) of Bedford, Va, Tony Floyd Jr. (Sabrina) of Max Meadows, Va, Tabitha Burnette (Edwin) of Appomattox, and Andrew Floyd of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Sawyer Thilking, Oliver Thilking, Benjamin Thilking, Edwin Burnette Jr., Natalie Floyd, Autumn Floyd, Eleanor Thilking; two siblings, Bo Floyd (Betty) of Hurt, Va and Jeannie Prior (Cliff) of Altavista, Va; and his best friends, Brent of Appomattox, and Shawn of Dunn, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Floyd; one brother, Roy Floyd; and three sisters, Lona Mason, Virginia “Cookie” Neblett, and Sandra “Kitten” Harris.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Hebron Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Tom Walker. The family will receive friends following the service.
