Orie Julius Millner

Orie Julius Millner, 89, of Appomattox, Va, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 22nd, 2025.
Born in Appomattox, Va, on October 12, 1935, to the late Jesse Gordon Millner and the late Martha Burks Millner, Orie was the proud owner of a 200-acre farm he purchased in 1969, where he raised beef cattle and renovated an old farmhouse into a cherished family home. He also worked for Courtland Manufacturing, but his true passion was working the land and caring for his farm.
Orie is survived by his daughters, Lizzie Millner and Rebecca Edwards, and his grandson, Jordan Edwards. He is also survived by his brother, Russell Millner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Murrell Williams, Jesse “Junior” Millner Jr., Glenn Millner, Ronald Millner, and Marye Snow.
The last few years, Orie deeply loved spending time with his brother Russell, who faithfully brought him chicken dinners and brightened his days with brotherly care and laughter.
The family would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to Heartland Hospice for their exceptional kindness, compassion, and support during Orie’s final days.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Monday, August 25, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. John Moxley. A private burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
