Virginia Jacqueline “Jackie” Jamerson Ballowe

Virginia Jacqueline “Jackie” Jamerson Ballowe, 87, of Appomattox passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ralph McLane Ballowe.
Born on November 7, 1937, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson Jamerson and Gertie Guill Jamerson. Jackie worked at Jamerson Brothers Trucking and Oscar Jamerson & Sons Inc as secretary/bookkeeper. In 1991 she became a magistrate for the Virginia 10th Circuit Court until her retirement in 2014. She enjoyed going out to eat, watching baseball, bus trips, puzzles, and playing cards. Jackie was a member of Spout Spring Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathryn “Cat” B. Mobley and husband, Larry; daughter-in-law, Marsha C. Ballowe; two grandchildren, Thomas Wayde Ballowe and wife, Holly and Becky J. Brown and husband, Blake; three great-grandsons, Logan, Levi, and Landon Ballowe; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Lawrence and Eleanor Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her son, T.W. Ballowe; and sister, Barbara J. Guill
A funeral service will be held 11am, Friday October 10, 2025, at Spout Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Mann and Pastor Todd Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Thursday, October 9, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
