William Clifton "Cliff" Drinkard
William Clifton “Cliff’ Drinkard, 87, of Appomattox, VA, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Runk and Pratt Liberty Ridge Community. He was the husband of the late Betty Steuart Drinkard.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, on April 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Virginia Elizabeth Martin Drinkard, and the late Howlett Fuller Drinkard Sr. Cliff was a member of Trinity Methodist Church.
He is survived by four children, Kimberly D. Neighbors, Nita Moore and husband, Darrell, Robin Martin and husband, Dan, and Ben Martin and wife, Melinda; nine grandchildren, Holly Neighbors, McKenna Neighbors and wife, Kendell, Mary Beth Wilbun and husband, Matt, Jordan Goodman and husband, Tristan, Macy Willoughby and husband, Arthur, Molly Grantham and husband, Mitchell, Justin Peeler, Josie Toews and husband, Isaac, and Jacob Almond and wife, Kasey; seven great-grandchildren, Knox Hutchins, Grace Nash, Olivia Nash, Kollyns Goodman, Elaine Willoughby, Burks Almond, and Beau Almond; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Burnette Neighbors and Zelma Ferguson.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherl Lynn Almond; a granddaughter, Rebecca Catherine Almond; two brothers, Howlett Fuller Drinkard Jr and wife, Arlene, and Donald Lee Drinkard and wife, Josephine; and one sister, Arlene D. Poss and husband, Mike McGregor.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Trinity Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Wyatt Cudd. A private family burial will be held in the church cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
