Otto Hunter "Sonny" Tolley
Otto Hunter “Sonny” Tolley Jr., 82, of Pamplin, VA, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at The Woodland Assisted Living Facility in Farmville, VA.
Born in Christiansburg, VA, on February 1, 1943, he was the son of the late Edith Mann Tolley and the late Otto Hunter Tolley Sr. Sonny was a member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church. He was a partner in Tolley’s Inc., a fertilizer and farm supply business for 25 years and then worked in real estate until he retired in 2020. Sonny was an active cattle farmer, loved golf, hunting and all things Hokies. He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by four children, Tim Tolley and wife, Robin, Chris Tolley and wife, Donna, Darren Tolley and wife, Sarah, Kellie T. Carter and husband, Ralph; eight grandchildren, Hunter Tolley, Dylan Tolley, Patrick Tolley and wife, Kaitlyn, Peyton Tolley, Bryant Tolley, Kayla Carter Holt and husband, Garrett, Justin Carter, and Kristen Lakes and husband, Jeremy; seven great-grandchildren, Ira, Elijah, Ava, Olive, Wyatt, Jack, and Garnett; and two siblings, Joyce G. Tolley and Mary E. Tolley.
A funeral will be held at 11am, Monday, November 17, 2025, at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Matthew Homan and Pastor Eric Hernandez. Burial will follow in Piney Ridge United Methodist Cemetery.
