Kenneth Edward Atkins
Kenneth Edward Atkins, Sr., 68, of Appomattox passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of Anita Bryant Atkins, his high school sweetheart, with who he reconnected 30 years later. They shared their life and love together for 25 years.
Born on October 31, 1957, in Farmville, VA, he was the son of the late Mildred Yancey and Robert Francis Atkins, Sr. Kenneth loved gardening and flowers. He enjoyed working in his greenhouse and working on his cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Brittany Robertson, Tabitha A. Tolentino-Martinez and husband, Francisco all of Appomattox, Kenneth E. Atkins, Jr. of Cambodia, and Kimberly Jennings and husband, Stan of Richmond; two stepdaughters, Christal Parker and husband, Dennis of Cumberland and Felicia McFadden and husband, Ricky of Gladstone; 11 grandchildren two of which had a special bond with their grandfather, Harper and Javier; one great-grandchild; and four siblings, Robert Atkins, Jr. and wife, Debbie Sue, Debbie Frances Atkins all of Buckingham, Dennis Atkins and wife, Dawn of Orange, and Gerald Atkins and wife, Kathy of Cumberland.
A funeral service will be held 11am, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. John Braxton and Rev. Winston Yancey officiating. Burial will follow in Stephens Family Cemetery, James River Rd, Gladstone, VA 24553.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30pm, Monday, January 5 at Robinson Funeral Home.
