Julia Frances Wingfield

Julia Frances Wingfield, 81, of Appomattox, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, on November 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Mary Katherine Woodall and Walter Hampton Wingfield.
Julia was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and served as President of the Women’s Missionary Union for over 30 years. She was a Sunday School teacher for the Adult Ladies class and a choir member. She worked as a purchaser for Armstrong Furniture and was a substitute teacher for Appomattox County Public Schools.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Foster and husband, Larry of Appomattox; five nieces and nephews, William Watson and wife, Mary, April Mabe and husband, Joey, Alisa Blankenship and husband, Tim, Tanya Mitchell and husband, Lewis, and JJ Foster and wife, Susan; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Hollywood Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Steve Tyree. Burial will follow in Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
