William G. Clowdis, Sr.

January 2, 1930 - March 10, 2026

William Glenwood Clowdis Sr., 96, of Red House, VA, passed away, Tuesday, March 10, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Peggy Booth Clowdis.
Born in Charlotte County, VA, on January 2, 1930, he was the son of the late Ethel Ellyson Clowdis and Frank M. Clowdis. William was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and was active with church outreach. He was a member of the Gideons. William served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was the Vice President of Taylor Brothers, worked in sales at Campbell Payne, and managed his farm in Red House.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Dr. William Glen Clowdis, Jr. of Red House, Dale Clowdis of New York, and Candace Clowdis of Red House; seven grandchildren, Christopher J. Clowdis, Jacqueline M. Clowdis and husband, Alex Ventura, Jessica A. Clowdis, Rachel A. Clowdis and fiancé, Gregory Gorman, Angelica C. Negrette and husband, Michael, William G. Clowdis III, and Bridgett A. Clowdis; one great-granddaughter, Leilana A. Clowdis-Ventura; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Mateo Negrete; two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Clowdis and Ned Clowdis; and four sisters, Nancy Carol Mitchell, Marie Harper, Beth Johnson, and Ann Crawley.
A funeral will be held at 2 pm, on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Providence Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Duane Seagle and Pastor Matt Homan.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.
