Richard Jay Eichenbaum age 60 of Troutville, Virginia and formerly of Woodland Hills, California went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 29, 2019.
He was born on September 14, 1959 in Los Angeles, California a son of the late Sidney and Enith Eichenbaum. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Reid Eichenbaum.

He was born on September 14, 1959 in Los Angeles, California a son of the late Sidney and Enith Eichenbaum. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Reid Eichenbaum.
Richard is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 27 years, Kathy Eichenbaum; daughter and son-in-law, Tabitha and David Schultz, Boones Mill, VA; son, Stephen L. Miller, Jr., Troutville; his special nephew, Kyle Eichenbaum (Estela), West Hills, CA; sister, Dayna Gershick (Steve), Henderson, NV; and his daughter, Chelsea Eichenbaum, Roanoke. He is also survived by his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, David Schultz II, Joshua Schultz, Ruthie Schultz, Naomi Schultz, Noah Schultz, Mateo Eichenbaum and Erica Carter; his great-grandchildren, Marie Lawson, Sammy Boitnotte and Julian Poff. He is also survived by his furry faithful companions, Petey (13 yrs. old) and Molly (6 yrs. Old).
Richard worked in property management for over 30 years before retiring from New Mark Merrill in Woodland Hills, CA. He was an avid golfer, loved watching sports, enjoyed talking and never met a stranger. He was an amazing husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend! He will deeply be missed!
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. This charity held a very special place in Richards’s heart.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Clearbrook Baptist Church, 5219 Singing Hill Road, Roanoke, VA 24014 with Pastors Dave Schultz and Bryan Ratliff officiating. At the conclusion of the service, everyone is invited to stay for a time of food and fellowship and perhaps share a story about Richard.
