James Albert "Jimmy" Hogue

November 12, 1956 - December 6, 2019

On December 6, 2019, James Albert “Jimmy” Hogue passed from the earthly sphere in the bosom of the Blue Ridge Mountains. James was raised in Arlington, Virginia.

He played football for nearby Bishop Ireton High School, from which he graduated in 1975. He served honorably in the United States Air Force, which trained him to be a Pharmacy Assistant, enabling him to see some of the wider world.

He deployed to Okinawa, and also served in Minot, North Dakota, and San Antonio, Texas.
He later lived in Austin, Texas, where he met and married Ann Wyatt, with whom he had a daughter, Kailee.

He later returned to Northern Virginia, where he became a union craftsman so skilled that he was widely sought for jobs across the country. He loved to ride motorcycles, and recently was the proud owner of a couple of Harleys. He made friends easily, and stayed loyal to them, remaining close even to the families of his childhood friends from South Arlington.

He kept little for himself; he was not captivated by physical possessions. He could be relied upon to share a beer and enjoyed southern music, but would listen to just about anything. He liked history, was quick to laugh, and lived an uncomplicated but deliberate life. He was the sole Cowboys fan in a family devoted to the Redskins—a grudge the family hopes will now ease. He had a personal, unconventional spirituality; what he believed, he believed deeply and without much outward sign.

He is survived by his daughter Kailee Larson, and five siblings, Pam, Charlie, Bob, Betsy and Judi, as well as many friends. He was loved dearly and will be forever missed.

Arrangements are being made for services at Arlington Cemetery-Family and friends will be informed once plans are finalized.
