Eva Elizabeth Martin Corbett

October 15, 1931 - February 2, 2020

Eva Elizabeth Martin Corbett, age 88 of Troutville, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Eva was born in Roanoke October 16, 1931 and lived in Botetourt County all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Walter C. and Gladys Bishop Martin.

Eva was an OR tech at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for many years. She and her husband, L.W. Corbett owned and operated L.W. Corbett Orchards and raised 0ver 250,000 chickens. When she had spare time, Eva enjoyed reading, cross-stitch, gardening vegetables and canning, and her dog Mandee. Eva was a former member of Troutville Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.W. Corbett; children, Deborah Meadows Poff and Michael Edward Meadows; brothers, Walter Martin, Jr. and Jack Martin. Eva is survived by her son Joey Meadows of Troutville; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Randy George of Berkley Springs, West Virginia; grandchildren: Brian Poff, Richard Poff, Jason Poff, Todd Meadows, Westley Meadows, Dustin George, and Matthew George; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Frances Wilhelm of Roanoke.

A celebration of Eva’s life will be 1:00 pm Saturday, February 8 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Ben Peyton officiating. Burial will be at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 pm Friday.
