Mary Christine Overstreet Tuck

Mary Christine Overstreet Tuck, 97 of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 7, 2020. She was born on Sunday, January 14, 1923 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Orville Clifton Overstreet and Anna Bell Niday Overstreet. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Woodson C. Tuck; her siblings, William (Bill) Nelson, Mike Overstreet, Jesse Overstreet, Bobby Ray Overstreet, Virginia Overstreet, Eleanor D. Jacobs, Barbara Goodman Ramsey (Bobby); her nephew, Robert L. Scott "Bobby Layne" and her grandson, Christopher T. Martin.

She worked at the Bedford Silk Mill for many years but her greatest accomplishment was her family. Her home and heart was always open to many in need of love and kindness. She loved to cook, garden and care for others.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Williams, Kenneth Jones, Vincent (Merty) Tuck, Patty Cassidy, Robert W. Tuck, Sharon Tuck, Savada Martin; sisters, Gladys O. Buza, Nellie O. Parker. Mrs. Tuck is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, nineteen great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 7 PM at Updike Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bedford.
