Marie Ida Fletcher Roberston

Marie Ida Fletcher Robertson, 91, of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg.  Marie was born on March 23, 1929 in Narrows and was a daughter of the late Mason Ivy Fletcher and Virgie Faye Carter Fletcher.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Arthur Glen Robertson, grandson, Jonathan V. Robertson, five brothers, James, Roy, Ronald, Randall and Joseph Fletcher, three sisters, Beatrice Robertson, Louise Baker and Reba Mann.  Marie was a lifelong resident of Giles County.  She was a member Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows for over seventy years.  She worked briefly at the Celanese Corp. in Narrows and quit to raise her family and help others in her community.  She leaves behind many family and friends, who meant a lot to her.  She is survived by two sons, Curtis G. Robertson, Ralph W. Robertson (Lori D.), two grandchildren, Knox C. Robertson, Madison Ann Robertson, one sister, Doris Fletcher Williams, all of Narrows.  Graveside funeral services will be held, Monday, March 30, 2020 at 2pm at the Angels Rest Cemetery in Narrow with Pastor John Jenkins officiating.  The family will receive friends at Angels Rest Cemetery from 1 – 2pm before the service.  The family is being served by Givens-Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
