Helen Martin Moore

Helen Martin Moore, 76, of James River Road, Gladstone, died May 4, 2020, at her residence. She was the wife of Donald C. “Donnie” Moore for 58 years.

Born in Appomattox County, Va. on June 12, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Margaret Drinkard Martin and James M. Martin. She was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Helen worked for many years at GE, was a CNA for Lynchburg General Hospital, and for many years worked from her home as a beautician.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Kevin and Sheila Moore of Gladstone; two daughters, Dana and Richard Taylor of Chesapeake and Nicole and Lee Blankenship of Madison Heights; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sandra Martin of Appomattox; 12 grandchildren, Dylan Lewis, Mitchell Lewis, Jonathon Moore, Charles Mayberry, Jr., Jessica Mayberry, Monica Moore, Celina Olivarez, Ruben Olivarez, Brandon Ferguson, Richard Taylor, Jr., Caden Blankenship, and Noah Blankenship; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey Mayberry; a brother, Harold Martin; and a sister, Ann Martin Wilcox.

A private graveside service will be held in the Martin Family Cemetery conducted by Rev. Randolph Martin.

The casket will be open from 9 a.m. until noon, on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Robinson Funeral Home for friends to view Helen.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Gideons International, PO Box 486, Appomattox, VA 24522.
