Dylin Giles Hoback

November 23, 2004 - May 14, 2020

Dylin Giles Hoback, 15, of Bedford went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 14, 2020. He was born on November 23, 2004 in Miami, FL to Giles Hoback, III of Bedford, VA and Sarah Rexrode of Forest, VA. His family and friends meant the world to him and he was loved and adored by so many. He loved spending time with his family and dearest friends Ethan, Luke, Micah, and Carter who "kept it real" and helped him through so much. He enjoyed trips to the beach, Dollywood, and Jellystone; snowboarding at Snowflex, golf, music, movies, video games, Mommy dates; cooking and baking his perfected orange chocolate chip scones, and family game nights. He wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps by serving his country and also becoming a firefighter.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Olivia Hoback; step-father, Jamey Rexrode of Forest, VA; step-brother, Brandon Rexrode of Morgantown, WV; grandparents, Giles Hoback, Jr. and Debbie Hoback of Goode, VA & Donald Perry, Jr. and Teresa Perry of Goode, VA; aunts and uncles, Mandy (Brandon) Baber of Bedford, VA, Corby (Melissa) Hoback of Bedford, VA, Casey (Julie) Hoback of Gordonsville, VA, and Kristen (Tom) Matzke of Forest, VA, and numerous cousins whom he loved so much.

Dylin will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Special thanks to Eric Koontz and Jason Brown of Blue Ridge Community Church, who were with Dylin when he accepted Jesus as his Savior in November 2019, to Light Counseling, Bedford Fire Department, and the Bedford County Department of Fire & Rescue.

An outdoor graveside service will be provided by Updike Funeral Home at Virginia Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 11am. Please wear something orange, blue, or green – Dylin’s favorite colors. His uncle, Rev. Brandon Baber and his youth pastor, Eric Koontz will be conducting the service.
